This 7 1/2 carat total gem weight rough cut ruby and diamond ring in sterling silver features rough cut gemstones allowing you to buy a huge precious gemstone at a very low price. While rough cut gemstones do not have a lot of fire, they are true ruby color. So July babies rejoice! Diamond content is .02 carat in G/H color and I3 clarity. Ruby, a member of the corundum family of gemstones, is generally red in color, from light pink to dark red. The most common treatment for the enhancement of color is heat treating. In the heat treating process, rough un-cut rubies are heated to 1700-1800 degrees celsius, which improves both color and clarity. All rubies that SuperJeweler sells are heat treated for the enhancement of red color and clarity.
